Thank you Rachel for seeing the gifts and abilities rather than deficits and all your efforts and work assisting others to see this way too.
A field I see embrace this is Narrative Therapy Practices which view a person as a person and not as having deficits. I've been exploring the use of the Japanese art of Kintsugi melded with Narrative Therapy practices to assist people to see broken, not as irreparable or forever, but as what else might be seen in the pieces and repair, honoring the vessel never goes back to its original state, but is actually stronger after repair. Its been amazing to witness the preferred narratives that arise in these conversations beyond forever broken, especially with survivors of abuse and violence.
Thank you again for your work!
