FOLI: There Is No Movement Without Rhythm

"Life has a rhythm, it's constantly moving. The word for rhythm ( used by the Malinke tribes ) is FOLI. It is a word that encompasses so much more than drumming, dancing or sound. It's found in every part of daily life. In this film you not only hear and feel rhythm but you see it. It's an extraordinary blend of image and sound that feeds the senses and reminds us all how essential it is." Thomas Roebers and Floris Leeuwenberg's stunning short film portrays the people of Baro in Guinea, and offers a window into their rich culture of rhythm.

Wow. Loved this reminder of rhythm, especially today as we approach a solar eclipse, and I have been reflecting on the rhythm of the breath, aligning inner rhythm with the rhythm of the Earth, sun, moon and the Universe really.

Wow. Wow. Wow. I fall into these rhythms naturally as I walk miles every day. I could really FEEL these beautiful people and their rhythms. And, I have a whole new appreciation for my djembe. <3
