Un home de 51 anys torna a viure amb els seus pares perquè una família sense llar pugui viure a casa seva.
L'oferta de Tony Tolbert és bona per a un any complet. Segons CBS, el dormitori de recanvi de la casa de la seva infància a Los Angeles anava sovint a persones necessitades, cosa que va inspirar la seva pròpia versió de l'acte.
"No cal que siguis Bill Gates o Warren Buffet o Oprah", va dir Tolbert, un advocat format a Harvard, a CBS al vídeo anterior. "Ho podem fer allà on siguem, amb el que tinguem , i per a mi, tinc una casa que puc posar a disposició".
Tolbert no havia conegut mai els destinataris. Els va trobar a través de la Casa Alexandria, un refugi per a dones i nens. Felicia Dukes, una mare de quatre fills, no es podia creure l'acord quan el va sentir.
"Van tenir un jove que volia donar-te la seva casa durant un any", va recordar Dukes. "I jo la miro, com, què? Com... dius seriosament?"
Segons l'emissora de notícies, ella i tres dels seus fills compartien una habitació individual al refugi, les normes del qual impedien que el seu fill adult s'unís a ells. Ara estan de nou junts.
CBS va informar que tots han arribat a la casa de Tolbert, que romandrà completament moblada durant la seva estada. Al vídeo, Dukes expressa amb llàgrimes el seu agraïment.
"El meu cor només s'omple i coses, eh... Estic molt feliç", va dir Dukes.
La història arriba dies després que escrivim sobre Grace McNulty, que com Tolbert, va trobar inspiració per ajudar els sense sostre del seu pare . Va morir a l'agost i, per tant, Mcnulty, de 10 anys, va passar el dia de Nadal servint sopars complets de gall dindi a persones sense llar, fent honor al seu desig d'alleujar el seu patiment durant les vacances.
A més, un barber de Salt Lake City ha estat ajudant les persones sense llar durant els últims 19 anys . Cada dilluns, ofereix talls de cabell gratuïts per netejar el seu aspecte o iniciar una recerca de feina.

Funny how the news anchor at the end says, "What a small gesture." I don't think giving your house to someone to live in with their family for a year is a small gesture.
That was so amazing - bless him, and bless that new family to whom he gave an incredible opportunity. At first I didn't want to read the story because it was like "oh, another superman with an impossibly big heart"... and in many ways he is that, but not in a discouraging way: he's an inspiration. If we all just give in the ways that we can and that make sense to us, then we really can help make the world a better place :)
I'd like to throw in my friend chappette. Several years she would feed, clothe and give haircuts to as many homeless people as she could. She has always been an inspiration to me and her generosity is always genuine and heartfelt. I wish more people would understand that not everyone in that situation is there because they're lazy or trying to cheat the system. They really need help...
