LOVE! Truth: Everyone has a Story to Tell. And ALL of Our Stories Matter! We can create HOPE and Inspire each other. We can Create HEALING when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable and courageous enough to share our Stories & Listen to other share theirs. I just did this type of work in Kenya where I collected Real People's Real Stories of overcoming adversity and seeing opportunity in obstacles. From widows who rather than be inherited chose to join a farming cooperative and are now micro-lending to others, to teen Artists in Kibera sharing their inherent talent through painting in Kibera one of the largest slums in East Africa. So much HOPE. So much possibility!
Teachers need to learn Dr. Remen's thinking too. In order to help the public & decision-makers understand the value of public education. We linked to this & we promote teachers' public voice at our website, http://teachersspeakup.com . Come and visit!
That's the real power of stories. That's one of the reasons I love reading 'Chicken soup for thhe soul' series. small stories that can change the way you see things.
Nice Article and Thank You So Much for sharing.
I was told 17 years ago that I had a very rare type of cancer and had only 6- 18 months to live. Then a friend said they would have their Church pray for me. When I started Ce-mo and radiation I had 12 churches praying for me. I started studying the Bible, found out how much God loves me and am here to tell others about it today. Go to 3ABN.org and start your base of knowledge and wisdom today.
"I have learned not to rush to fill a blank page with words"
... my first read through this I read "I have learned not to fill a page with blank words."
I think the result is the same either reading. :)
Rachel Remen is the wisest and profound person I have ever met.
The necessary change of humanity starts just with a few individuals. It is uplifting to see a 'medical doctor' who is expressing her view that goes so far beyond the established mindset of our society. I'm writing about the same since many years, after I had healed myself from Fibromyalgia, even though all medical doctors had told me that there is no cure! I have written about my healing process at my Website and even though more than 3000 people are reading this every day, there is hardly any response. That tells that people are depending on the view of authorities about disease and healing, but this 'pioneer lady' is expressing her insights very clear and should be supported by all of us. So we should share her writings with all around...
