Miloedd O Wlad Yr Iâ Yn Cynnig Eu Cartrefi I Ffoaduriaid O Syria

Mae miloedd o bobl yn yr Iâ wedi dweud y byddent yn croesawu ffoaduriaid o Syria i'w cartrefi ar ôl i'w llywodraeth gyhoeddi'r mis diwethaf y byddai'n derbyn dim ond 50 o bobl i'r wlad.

Mewn ymgyrch Facebook a lansiwyd gan yr awdur o Wlad yr Iâ, Bryndis Bjorgvinsdottir, cynigiodd tua 12,000 o bobl - 4% o boblogaeth Gwlad yr Iâ - groesawu ffoaduriaid i'w cartrefi.

Byddai'r swm hwnnw'n cyfateb i 2.6 miliwn o Brydeinwyr.

Amcangyfrifir bod mwy na 340,000 o ffoaduriaid wedi cyrraedd Ewrop hyd yn hyn eleni - bron i dair gwaith y nifer a gyrhaeddodd yn ystod saith mis cyntaf 2014.

Mewn post ar frig y dudalen Facebook, wedi'i gyfeirio at Weinidog Lles Gwlad yr Iâ, Eygló Harðar, ysgrifennodd Bjorgvinsdottir, 33 oed: "Y syniad yw dangos i'r llywodraeth fod ewyllys i dderbyn hyd yn oed mwy o ffoaduriaid o Syria na'r 50 sydd eisoes wedi'u trafod.

"Rydym am wthio'r llywodraeth – dangos iddyn nhw y gallwn ni wneud yn well, a gwneud hynny ar unwaith.

"Ym 1973 derbyniom 4,000 o ffoaduriaid o Ynysoedd Westman dros nos ar ôl ffrwydrad folcanig, pan helpodd pawb – a ni ddylem anghofio nifer y gwirfoddolwyr tramor a ddaeth i'r wlad i helpu bryd hynny.

"Adnoddau dynol, profiad a sgiliau yw ffoaduriaid. Ffoaduriaid yw ein darpar briod, ein ffrindiau gorau, ein cymar enaid nesaf, y drymiwr yn ein band plant, ein cydweithiwr nesaf, Miss Iceland 2022, y saer coed sy'n trwsio ein hystafell ymolchi o'r diwedd, y cogydd yn y ffreutur, y diffoddwr tân, yr haciwr a'r cyflwynydd teledu."

"Pobl na fyddwn ni byth yn gallu dweud wrthyn nhw: 'Mae eich bywyd chi'n werth llai na fy un i.'"

Hyd yn hyn, mae 12,000 o bobl wedi ymuno â'r ymgyrch, gydag amrywiaeth o gynigion yn cael eu postio ar y dudalen Facebook.

Mae dinasyddion Gwlad yr Iâ wedi gwirfoddoli eu gwasanaethau i goginio i'r rhai mewn angen, mynd â phlant i'r ysgol, rhoi dillad a llestri cegin a helpu ffoaduriaid o Syria i "addasu i gymdeithas Gwlad yr Iâ".

Mae'r ymateb i'r ymgyrch wedi ysgogi Prif Weinidog Gwlad yr Iâ, Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson, i benodi pwyllgor newydd i fynd i'r afael â'r posibilrwydd o ganiatáu i fwy o ffoaduriaid ddod i mewn i'r wlad, yn ôl adroddiad yr Icelandic Review Online .

“Ein nod mewn gwleidyddiaeth ryngwladol fu bod o gymorth mewn cymaint o feysydd â phosibl ac mae hwn yn un o’r meysydd lle mae’r angen mwyaf ar hyn o bryd,” meddai Sigmundur.

Mae ymatebion arweinwyr gwladwriaethau Ewropeaidd i ffoaduriaid ar y cyfandir wedi amrywio'n fawr.

Cafodd Arlywydd y Weriniaeth Tsiec, Miloš Zeman, ei feirniadu yn dilyn sylwadau a wnaeth mewn cynhadledd i'r wasg ddydd Sul, lle cymharodd ffoaduriaid anobeithiol â "tsunami a fydd yn ei ladd" .

Roedd wedi awgrymu y byddai ton enfawr o fewnfudwyr yn parlysu ac yn dinistrio'r wlad yn Nwyrain Ewrop oherwydd "bydd ffoaduriaid yn gwahodd eu perthnasau i ymuno â nhw".

Ddydd Mawrth, dywedodd yr ymgeisydd am arweinyddiaeth y Blaid Lafur, Yvette Cooper, y dylai Prydain dderbyn o leiaf 10,000 o ffoaduriaid i fynd i'r afael â'r argyfwng dyngarol gwaethaf yn Ewrop ers yr Ail Ryfel Byd .

Galwodd Cooper ar drefi a dinasoedd ledled y wlad i gymryd i mewn deg teulu mudol fel rhan o ymdrech y DU i helpu'r miloedd sy'n ffoi o wledydd sydd wedi'u rhwygo gan ryfel.

Yn y cyfamser, mae'r Almaen yn paratoi ar gyfer 800,000 o geisiadau lloches eleni - pedair gwaith y nifer a dderbyniodd yn 2014.

Amazing woman! How wonderful to reach out and help those in need. Sadly, some of the previous posts may tolerate helping others, but only "certain" types of people. It seems the ultra-religious folks seem to think only "chosen" groups of humans should be helped, and anyone who disagrees with their own dogma should simply fall by the wayside. This is contradictory to what the person they worship (Jesus) taught. He said to love all people equally. Sad to see that they "pick & choose" to whom they offer their sentiments. Perhaps the people writing these posts come from warmongering nations that prides themselves on taking lands, violent oppression, aggression and conquest. That may explain the Xenophobic and Islamaphobic responses about this wonderful story. Ladies and gentlemen, let me remind you, this planet is a big place filled with many different human beings, just like a beautiful flower garden. This story is a wonderful example of real and true devotion to one's... [View Full Comment]

As with everything balance in needed. We
can't be swept up only by the action of doing good so that we can feel
good. Safety and precaution and judgement is needed too! Best of luck to the
refugees and those who open their homes to them!

This is a fantastic idea and she is spot on about how many gems and gifts there are in refugees. I am so tired of people painting refugees as somehow inherently dangerous or to be watched out for in safety.... refugees are doctors, lawyers, teachers, custodians, MA and PhD recipients, they are mothers and daughters, fathers and sons. Please see refugees as human beings and not the stereotypes in your minds. Thank you!

I congratulate Iceland on the wonderful open citizens who who compassion and love for others.
People like Ken, who communicated his fear and aggression in his post, also need compassion because they suffer greatly. I hope that he can reconcile with the world around him, just as we all have to.

Such a positive uplifting post, only to be followed by 2 comments full of fear and hate and racism the likes of which I have never read on the Daily Good since I started reading it the year of its inception. Filled with sadness that this blog now has readers who hate so much they must advertise it in these pages.

Some of the Icelanders will probably live to regret this huge mistake, others will die a horrible death, or mutilation. I can see a rape epidemic coming on and Iceland is ill prepared for the onslaught of savages roaming the streets of their cities.

I wonder how the homeowners vet the Syrians for safety.

Can this even be done?

Or do the homeowners just wing it. Assume they are OK.

Because faith.

I wonder what level of risk they take.

Do they just take women and children? Or military age men as well.

How about their level of fundamentalism. Is their a nogo level?

If the refugee in your house wants to actively practice sharia, do you go along? What about if they begin to resent you if you dont? What do you do then?

I enjoy helping other people, but these basic hard questions of physical safety risk management are unanswered in the article.
