When I was a child , my mother sang to me the Moon song , I sing it still now as an elder . I sang it last night when the moon peeked at me 😘
It goes like this , sing with me if you too were taught this song by your mom ;
" I see the moon and the moon sees me , the moon sees the one I long to see , so God Bless you and God Bless me , and God bless the one you Long to see. It seems to me that God above , created You for me to Love . He picked you out from All the rest , because He knew I Love You Best ! Skina marika dinka dinka Skina Marika do , I Love you !
I Love You the morning , and in the afternoon , I Love you in the evening and underneath the Moon so skina Marika dinka Dinka Skina Marika do I love You !"

Hattie, you should do a You tube rendition of your moon song, so we can hear your voice and learn the melody of this sweet song. What language is "Kina marika dina dinka Skina Marika...?" I, too, have always been fascinated by the moon, and I have no idea why.

I, too, have a “Moon song, “. I seem to remember my mother singing it, probably to me. Goes like this: “I see the moon and the moon sees me, down through the leaves of the old oak tree, please let the light that shines on me shine on the one I love.”
I sang this little song to my children too, some years ago. When I was a child my friends and I would lay in the grass looking up at the moon, debating whether it was made of cheese or not. The possibility that some day, someone would walk on the moon never entered our minds! I happen to live in a place where I can see the moon clearly most nights and when it is a big, harvest moon I can hardly take my eyes off of it.
