The greatest life worth living is the life of giving of yourself to others.

It is indeed a fabulous experience i guess but i do not think it is something so special as it is being put up. Any way we all have some sort of experience that leaves us with awe and perplexed perhaps. All the best for the beautiful waitress and her generosity and the mystery that was nowhere!!!

Nice story, but would like to know where the threshold fell for crossing the boundary into his realm of stinginess. The message of the story is fantastic, but did he leave $11 or a twenty dollar bill or did he simply leave the $10 and take credit for something more?

The battle seems to be between the heart and the mind.  Our
fears can crowd out our capacity to see in the moment.
Looking deeply reveals our own humanity and that of others.

I was intrigued by the ending. My wife and I have a Mexican restaurant in Saint Joseph, Missouri, that is our absolute favorite. Virtually all of the employees are immigrants. We decided a few years ago that we make quit tipping... and start making our tips part of our benevolence and learning the names of our servers. Giving a good tip makes me feel decent and fair. Giving a generous one goes way beyond that.
