ልዩ የአቦሸማኔ ፍሌክስ ፉት እግሮችን በመጠቀም የሚሮጠው ፒስቶሪየስ በለንደን 2012 ኦሊምፒክ ውድድር ላይ እንዲወዳደር ፍቃድ ተሰጥቶት በስፖርት የግልግል ፍርድ ቤት የጣለውን እገዳ በመሻር በታሪካዊ ማስታወቂያ። የአለም አቀፉ የአትሌቲክስ ማህበር ፒስቶሪየስ በጨዋታዎቹ መወዳደር እንደማይችል ወስኖበታል ምክንያቱም የፍሌክስ ፉት እግሮቹ ኢፍትሃዊ ጥቅምን ያመለክታሉ። ሆኖም ፍርድ ቤቱ ፒስቶሪየስን በመደገፍ ብይን ከመሰጠቱ በፊት በሁለት አዳዲስ (እና እርስ በርሱ የሚጋጩ) ጥናቶችን ገምግሟል ።
ፒስቶሪየስ በእሁዱ የ400 ሜትር ውድድር የግማሽ ፍፃሜ ውድድር ቢያበቃም ለፍፃሜው ማለፍ አልቻለም። ያሳለፈው ሰአት 46.54 ሰከንድ ከሙቀት አሸናፊው የግሬናዳው የአለም ሻምፒዮን ኪራኒ ጀምስ በሁለት ሰከንድ ቀርቷል። በአክብሮት እና ስፖርታዊ ጨዋነት ለማሳየት ጄምስ ከውድድሩ በኋላ ፒስቶሪየስን አቅፎ የቢብ ቁጥሮችን እንዲለዋወጥ ጠየቀ።

This man is a very special person and so is Ellie. I pray they will both realize all that they can. Pistorius touched my heart and I doubt I will ever forget him.
