云中的彩虹

6月21日是我女儿的生日。1993年,我们第一次在清晨看到了彩虹。

今年,她的生日不会像往年那样到来。这将是她第一个没有她的生日。我和妻子至今仍沉浸在她去年八月离世的悲痛之中。我们最初想邀请亲戚朋友回家聚会,缅怀她。但不知为何,我们觉得那样做并不合适。悲伤并非总是可以通过聚集人群来表达,有时它需要被传递出去。

我们原本想给附近一所公立学校的孩子们分发糖果。但6月21日是星期天,学校放假。星期一分发感觉又不一样。然后我们想到了孤儿院。

那里大约有六十个孩子,从一年级到十年级都有。星期天他们都会在那里。我妻子想给他们买衣服。为了纪念我们的女儿,她最近开办了一个小型家庭服装制作工作室。由于孩子们年龄各异,我们的裁缝去给他们量了尺寸。

他回来后说,大约150到160米的布料就足够了。我妻子订了800米。

裁缝很惊讶。“夫人,150米布料足够每人做一件连衣裙了。”

她说:“不,我想每人送她们五件裙子。”

一片寂静。

我们都惊呆了。她只是淡淡地说:“我希望他们感到快乐。”

裁缝说时间这么短很难完成,只剩下七天了。我妻子的回答很坚定,她重申道:“我希望孩子们开心。”

那天晚上晚些时候,她自言自语道:“他们都是学生,我们也给他们准备书包吧。”然后是午餐盒,接着是水壶,最后是巧克力。

我大多时候保持沉默。但那并非反对,而是见证爱情萌芽的沉默。

现在,书包、午餐盒、水壶和巧克力都已为每个孩子单独打包。我们还为他们制作了姓名标签,这样每个孩子都能收到专属于他们的礼物。

或许,这就是在别人的阴霾中化作彩虹的意义。不是发表充满希望的演讲,也不是祈求悲伤消失,而是让悲伤化作温柔,让无处可去的爱,找到通往另一个孩子笑容的出口。

6月21日,我们希望为这些孩子的生活增添一些色彩。

我希望也能在那些云朵里看到我的女儿。

So very inspiring. Having lost my daughter at 5, it takes a while to get out gief and move into doing something joyfully with her memory in place. This was by far excellent.
