Sa Earth, isang kutsarita lang ng neutron star
ay tumitimbang ng anim na bilyong tonelada. Anim na bilyong tonelada
katumbas ng kolektibong bigat ng bawat hayop
sa lupa. Kasama ang mga insekto. Tatlong beses.
Parang imposible ang anim na bilyong tonelada
hanggang sa isipin ko kung paano lunukin ang kalungkutan—
isang kutsarita lang at baka naubos na rin ng isa
isang neutron star. Gaano ito kakapal,
kung paano dinadala sa loob nito ang alaala ng pagbagsak.
Gaano kahirap gumalaw noon.
Napakaimposibleng paniwalaan ang anumang bagay
kayang iangat ang bigat na iyon.
Maraming dahilan para tratuhin ang isa't isa
sa sobrang lambing. Ang isa ay
the sheer miracle na magkasama tayo dito
sa isang planeta na napapalibutan ng namamatay na mga bituin.
Ang isa ay hindi natin makita kung ano
may nakalunok ng iba.
