peserebbe sei miliardi di tonnellate. Sei miliardi di tonnellate
è uguale al peso collettivo di ogni animale
sulla Terra. Inclusi gli insetti. Per tre volte.
Sei miliardi di tonnellate sembrano impossibili
finché non considero cosa voglia dire ingoiare il dolore—
solo un cucchiaino e si sarebbe potuto consumare
una stella di neutroni. Quanto è densa,
come porti dentro di sé la memoria del crollo.
Quanto è difficile muoversi allora.
Quanto è impossibile credere che qualcosa
potesse sollevare quel peso.
Ci sono molte ragioni per trattarsi a vicenda
con grande tenerezza. Uno è
il puro miracolo che siamo qui insieme
su un pianeta circondato da stelle morenti.
Uno è che non possiamo vedere cosa
qualcun altro ha ingoiato.
