ważyłaby sześć miliardów ton. Sześć miliardów ton
równa się łącznej wadze każdego zwierzęcia
na ziemi. Wliczając owady. Razy trzy.
Sześć miliardów ton brzmi niemożliwie
dopóki nie zastanowię się, jak to jest połknąć smutek –
wystarczy łyżeczka i można by ją równie dobrze spożyć
gwiazda neutronowa. Jak gęsta jest,
jak nosi w sobie pamięć upadku.
Jak trudno jest się wtedy ruszyć.
Jak niemożliwe jest uwierzyć, że cokolwiek
mógł unieść taki ciężar.
Istnieje wiele powodów, dla których powinniśmy się nawzajem traktować
z wielką czułością. Jeden jest
to prawdziwy cud, że jesteśmy tu razem
na planecie otoczonej umierającymi gwiazdami.
Jednym z nich jest to, że nie możemy zobaczyć, co
ktokolwiek inny połknął.
