Growing up in a musical family, I was always sung to at bedtime, and I continued the tradition with my own 5 kids. Singing a variety of songs that were sung to me - from old folk tunes to show tunes - I added some of my own and each of my children ended up with "their song" in addition to all the others. As they've grown up and married, I have made books for them with all the lyrics to sing to their own children - - I individualize each book by putting that child's "song" as the first one. This summer I hope to record myself singing all of them and give a copy to each child, so they don't forget the tunes! :)

I used to sing Schubert's lullaby (https://www.youtube.com/wat... to my then baby niece <3 The lyrics, translated into Portuguese, my native language, were the following:

Sleep, my love, o treasure of my soul,

Sleep, my love, and mom (auntie) will make you sleep

Sleep, my love, quietly sleep

Always dreaming

And mom (auntie) will make you sleep

Wow❣ What wonderful giving, both by the parents and by the musicians. The Dalai Lama said:

"I am convinced that human nature is basically gentle, not aggressive. And every one of us has a responsibility to act as if all our thoughts, words, and deeds matter. For, really, they do. Our lives have both purpose and meaning."

This project and the results are a beautiful example of that.
