Bedeinkapena Nekatuta Dagoenarentzat

Bihotzaren erritmoa bizkortzen denean,
Denborak tentsioa hartzen du hautsi arte;
Orduan, arretarik gabeko estres guztia erortzen da
Buruan, amaigabeko pisu gero eta handiagoa bezala,

Buruko argia ahuldu egiten da.
Lehen lasai har zenezakeen gauzak
Orain borondatearen gertaera neketsu bihurtu.

Nekeak zure espiritua inbaditzen du.
Grabitatea zure barnean erortzen hasten da,
Hezur guztiak behera arrastaka eramanez.

Inoiz baloratu ez zenuen itsasgora joan da.
Eta lur ziurgabean abandonatuta zaude.
Zure baitan zerbait itxi da;
Eta ezin duzu zeure burua bizitzara itzuli.

Denbora hutsean sartzera behartuta egon zara.
Bultzatzen zintuen nahia galdu egin da.
Ez dago beste ezer egiteko orain atseden hartzeaz gain
Eta pazientziaz ikasi norbera jasotzen
Egunen lasterketarako utzi duzu.

Hasieran zure pentsamendua ilundu egingo da
Eta tristurak eguraldi apalena bezala hartzen du nagusitasuna.
Negar egin gabeko malkoen jarioak beldurtuko zaitu.

Lur faltsutik azkarregi bidaiatu duzu;
Orain zure arima etorri da zu itzultzera.

Babestu zure zentzumenetan, ireki zaitez
Presaka egin zenituen mirari txiki guztiei.

Euriaren bidea ikusteko joera hartu
Astiro eta libre erortzen denean.

Imitatu ilunabarraren ohitura,
Denbora hartuz koloreen putzua irekitzeko
Horrek eguneko distira sustatu zuen.

Harriaren isiltasunaren ondoan marraztu
Bere lasaitasunak erreklamatu arte.
Izan zaitez gehiegi leuna zure buruarekin.

Egon zaitez espirituz atsekabetuta daudenengandik urrun.
Ikasi erosotasun handiko norbaiten inguruan egoten
Munduko denbora guztia duela sentitzen duena.

Pixkanaka, zeure buruarengana itzuliko zara,
Zure bihotzarekiko errespetu berria ikasi ondoren
Eta denbora geldoan urrun dagoen poza.

A big “AMEN” for these words of truth and shalom.

Resting in these words as Sunday evening is winding down. Sitting in the reflection Brian wrote about rest as a substance that spills over. Oh, to be a person of rest that contagiously overflows, living habitually as a rested, relaxed person. Tonight, my heart is at ease. Thank you for this winsome reflection. Making notes and prayers in my journal so I can return and remember.

Sometimes this traveling over false ground has been forced upon us, over an entire lifetime. The hope that my soul returns to recover me, especially after feeling this false life has expunged it, is unimaginable- but O’Donohue makes it no longer so.

This whole book by O'Donohue is a great blessing "To Bless the space between us." So sad that he has departed but grateful for the gifts he left behind--each of them a special gem of insight for our troubled world. John O'Donohue helps me remember what truly matters.

Great to get a poem - not just more "information"
Would love more poems from Daily Good.

I cannot possibly tell you how timely this is for me right now...I am so grateful for your writing - you have provided a validation that I so desperately needed. It is only by the refuge, calmness, and gentleness you have so eloquently communicated that I have survived. Thank you, dear John O'Donahue for having written this. Thank you so, dear Daily Good, for having posted it.

Namaste, ~AJay

I like the expression, 'race of days'. It seems like this and to what end we run I'm sometimes unsure. I think it's because we feel we run out of time. We have to do things. To be seen to be doing things. I think it's time I stopped. Time to let everything flow around me and just let life happen.
