"Jaunās Dienas lirika"

Lai šī ir tā diena

Mēs sanākam kopā.

Sēras, mēs nākam laboties,

Novītuši, mēs nonākam pie laikapstākļiem,

Saplīsis, mēs nākam kopt,

Satriekti mēs nonākam pie labāka.

Saistīts ar šo ilgošanās gadu,

Mēs mācāmies

Lai gan mēs nebijām tam gatavi,

Mēs esam tam sagatavoti.

Mēs vienmēr apsolām, ka vienalga

Kā mēs esam nosvērti,

Mums vienmēr ir jābruģē ceļš uz priekšu.

*

Šī cerība ir mūsu durvis, mūsu portāls.

Pat ja mēs nekad neatgriezīsimies normālā stāvoklī,

Kādu dienu mēs varam doties tālāk par to,

Atstāt zināmo un spert pirmos soļus.

Tāpēc neatgriezīsimies pie tā, kas bija ierasts,

Bet tiecieties uz nākamo.

*

Kas tika nolādēts, to mēs izārstēsim.

Kas tika mocīts, mēs izrādīsimies tīri.

Kur mums ir tendence strīdēties, mēs centīsimies vienoties,

Tās laimes, kuras mēs zvērējām, tagad mēs paredzam nākotni,

Kur mēs nebijām informēti, mēs tagad esam nomodā;

Tie brīži, kurus mēs palaidām garām

Vai tagad mēs radām šos mirkļus,

Brīži, kad mēs satiekamies,

Un mūsu sirdis, reiz kopā pukstītas,

Tagad visi kopā sita.

*

Nāc, skaties ar laipnību vēl,

Jo pat mierinājumu var gūt no bēdām.

Mēs atceramies ne tikai vakardienas dēļ,

Bet uzņemties rītdienu.

*

Mēs ņemam vērā šo veco garu,

Jaunas dienas lirikā,

Savā sirdī mēs to dzirdam:

Par auld lang syne, mans dārgais,

Par auld lang syne.

Esiet drosmīgs, šogad dziediet Time,

Esiet drosmīgs, dziediet Laiks,

Jo, kad tu pagodini vakardienu,

Rīt jūs atradīsiet.

Ziniet, ko mēs esam cīnījušies

To nevajag aizmirst, ne arī par ko.

Tas mūs definē, saista kā vienu,

Nāc ciemos, pievienojies šai dienai, kas tikko sākusies.

Lai kur mēs būtu kopā,

Mēs uz visiem laikiem pārvarēsim.

Ms. Gorman's poem is beautiful and inspiring. Two of our students recited the poem for our school's Black History Chapel. The did a wonderful job.

I didn’t want to get out of bed today; Christmas Eve. Thus year my husband died unexpectedly and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. But this…this gorgeous poem inspires me to reach and grow and yse what was to create what might be. I’m so grateful to have come across it.

As we move closer to January 2025, Amanda Gorman"s poetic insights continue to stimulate reflection. May we meet the challenges of 2025 with this spirit of resilience, perseverance, hope, concern for the common good and peace.

Amanda Gorman is one of the millions of young folks that we old folks need to pay attention to and learn from. I hear people saying young people know nothing, which shows simply how little we know.
