'Letra De Um Novo Dia'

Que este seja o dia

Nós nos unimos.

Em luto, viemos para curar,

Murchos, chegamos ao clima,

Divididos, viemos para cuidar,

Mesmo machucados, nos tornamos melhores.

Presos a este ano de saudade,

Estamos aprendendo

Embora não estivéssemos preparados para isso,

Isso nos preparou.

Nós prometemos firmemente que, não importa

Como nos sentimos sobrecarregados,

Devemos sempre abrir caminho para o futuro.

*

Onde não tínhamos consciência, agora estamos conscientes;

Aqueles momentos que perdemos

São esses momentos que criamos,

Os momentos em que nos encontramos,

E nossos corações, antes todos juntos e derrotados,

Agora, batam todos juntos.

*

*

Damos ouvidos a esse espírito ancestral,

Na letra de um novo dia,

Em nossos corações, nós ouvimos isso:

Pelos velhos tempos, minha querida,

Pelos velhos tempos.

Seja ousado, cantava a revista Time este ano.

Seja ousado, cantava o Tempo.

As we move closer to January 2025, Amanda Gorman"s poetic insights continue to stimulate reflection. May we meet the challenges of 2025 with this spirit of resilience, perseverance, hope, concern for the common good and peace.

Amanda Gorman is one of the millions of young folks that we old folks need to pay attention to and learn from. I hear people saying young people know nothing, which shows simply how little we know.
