'Lirik Hari Baru'

Semoga hari ini

Kami datang bersama.

Berkabung, kami datang untuk memperbaiki,

Layu, kita datang kepada cuaca,

Koyak, kami datang untuk merawat,

Dipukul, kita menjadi lebih baik.

Diikat oleh tahun kerinduan ini,

Kami sedang belajar

Walaupun kita tidak bersedia untuk ini,

Kami telah bersedia dengannya.

Kami terus berikrar bahawa tidak kira

Betapa kita terbeban,

Kita mesti sentiasa membuka jalan ke hadapan.

*

Di mana kita tidak sedar, kita kini terjaga;

Detik-detik yang kita rindui

Adakah saat ini kita buat,

Detik-detik kita bertemu,

Dan hati kita, sekali dipukul bersama,

Sekarang semua bersama-sama mengalahkan.

*

Datang, lihatlah dengan kebaikan,

Kerana walaupun penghiburan boleh bersumber dari kesedihan.

Kami ingat, bukan hanya untuk hari semalam,

Tetapi untuk menghadapi esok.

*

Kami mengindahkan semangat lama ini,

Dalam lirik hari baru,

Dalam hati kita, kita mendengarnya:

Untuk auld lang syne, sayangku,

Untuk auld lang syne.

Jadilah berani, nyanyikan Time tahun ini,

Jadilah berani, nyanyikan Masa,

Kerana apabila anda menghormati semalam,

Esok awak akan jumpa.

Tahu apa yang telah kita perjuangkan

Tidak perlu dilupakan mahupun untuk tiada.

Ia mentakrifkan kita, mengikat kita sebagai satu,

Ayuh, sertai hari ini yang baru bermula.

Kerana di mana sahaja kita berkumpul,

Kami akan mengatasi selamanya.

I didn’t want to get out of bed today; Christmas Eve. Thus year my husband died unexpectedly and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. But this…this gorgeous poem inspires me to reach and grow and yse what was to create what might be. I’m so grateful to have come across it.

Amanda Gorman is one of the millions of young folks that we old folks need to pay attention to and learn from. I hear people saying young people know nothing, which shows simply how little we know.
